This year CSAN will once again enter a women’s state select team in the Region IV Select Team Tournament.  This tournament will be held in Delta Park in Portland, OR from June 14th to June 17th, 2001.  This program is one of the bottom rungs of the national program that leads to selection of players for the United States Olympic Soccer Team and the Women's National Amateur Soccer Team.

The 2000 CSAN Women's Select team did very well.  They won the 2000 Region IV Select Team Tournament in Salt Lake City, UT.  So they were automatically invited to play in the 2000 George F. Donnelly Cup in Fort Lauderdale, FL over Thanksgiving vacation.  The 2000 CSAN Women's State Select Team, coached by Rick Caldwell and J. T. Thomas, won the 2000 Donnelly Cup and thus were the best Women's State Select Team in the United States.   Eleven CSAN players were chosen for the 2000 Region IV Women’s Select Team and seven of these eleven players played in the 2000 National Soccer Festival with the Region IV team.  In addition, LaKeysia Beene, Emily Burt, Kelsey Carlson, and Carmel Murphy were chosen for the 2000 United States National Amateur Women's Soccer Team.

Several of the players on the 2000 CSAN Women's Select have also been chosen for teams in the Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA): LaKeysia Beene - CyberRays; Maite Zabala - Atlanta Beat; Carly Smolak - Free Agent; Emily Burt - Atlanta Beat; Ronnie Fair - New York Power; Elie Foster - Boston Breakers; Megan Horvath - CyberRays; Cary Sanchez-Raygor - Boston Breakers; and Emmy Barr - Washington Freedom.
